Covid Grants - Additional Funding for schools
In 2023-2024 Covid funding was made available in two funding streams: School Led Tutoring (National Tutoring Programme) and Recovery Premium.
State-funded schools received NTP funding over the course of the 2023 to 2024 academic year to deliver tuition to their pupils. It is intended to cover 50% of the unit cost of tuition, with schools targeting the tutoring offer towards their pupil premium (PP) cohort and making up the remainder of the cost using PP or from other core school budgets.
The overall approach to the NTP in the 2023 to 2024 academic year is to put schools in charge of designing and delivering a tutoring offer that suits the needs of their pupils.
Recovery Premium grant is part of the government’s package of funding to support disadvantaged pupils with their education recovery following the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
