Applying for a School Place

We enjoy a real family atmosphere at St. George’s which has deep foundations within a strong and caring Christian community. Our children learn a strong moral code and how to care for their friends.  This is enhanced through our curriculum and our attitudes.

We welcome children of all faiths and we find many parents send their children to us because they see the value in the Catholic ethos we provide.  We are a fully inclusive school and embrace diversity.

The school admissions team at Wiltshire Council is responsible for allocating primary and secondary school places at local authority schools in Wiltshire. Most children start school in the September following their fourth birthday. However, by law, a child does not have to start school until the term following their fifth birthday.

For children starting school for the first time, you may apply online direct to Wiltshire Council, download a form from their website or collect a form from school. More information and links to the application form can be found on the Wiltshire website:  http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/schools-learning-admissions-online

Parents will also need to complete a school Supplementary form  in addition to the Wiltshire Council application form.  The Supplementary Information Form should be sent directly to the school before the closing date for admissions for the year in which they applying.

For children who are transferring to St. George’s from another primary school please complete our In-Year Admission Application Form  and return to the school.

We welcome visits from parents who wish to look around the school.  Please phone the school office to make an appointment to visit us.  click here to view our school prospectus.

Our Admissions Policy is reviewed annually and contains information on our admission and over subscription criteria.
