School Uniform

At St. George’s we are committed to affordability and sustainability.  Branded items of our school uniform; ties, jumpers, PE t-shirts and optional items such as hoodies, fleece jackets and book bags are available from:

We sell the tartan skirts  direct from the school office, in order that costs are kept to a minimum.  Grey trousers and shorts and white shirts can be purchased from any shop/supermarket selling unbranded school uniform.

We keep a stock of second hand uniform in the school office and parents are welcome to purchase second hand items of school uniform between 9 am and 3pm.  We sell items at very reasonable prices and welcome donations of good quality pre-loved school uniform. The Friends of the school also hold regular second hand uniform sales at the school which will be published in our School Newsletter.

P.E.
Children will need suitable clothing for PE & swimming.  All children will need shorts, T-shirt, plimsolls, swimming costume & towel.  Older children may also need trainers and/or football boots.  The school PE kit of royal blue shorts and royal blue T-shirt with the school crest are available from Scholars.

Hair, Jewellery and accessories

* No jewellery allowed except for a watch and only small, plain studs if children have pierced ears.  These need to be covered with tape during PE.
* Watches – to be analogue or digital.  No smart watches.  Fitbits are allowed.
* Hair accessories are to be kept to a discreet minimum  – neither large bows nor headbands with decorative pieces are allowed.
* Dyed hair or shaved tramlines are not allowed.
* Nail varnish should not be worn in school.

Other items

* Children need a coat for school, school bag and in the summer need a sunhat – all to be provided from home and named.
* Children in Foundation stage should bring wellies in a named bag to be kept in school during term time. 
* Wellies for other years groups are recommended as the school field is used for play all year round.

Parents should contact the school if their circumstances, beliefs or ethnicity would result in them not being able to adhere fully to the policy.
